What is Transformational Breathwork?

The Transformational Breathwork ceremony is a powerful transformational journey that inspires individuals to reconnect with their own inner healer. As old wounds and dysfunctional patterns are released and transformed, one begins to bring a sense of wholeness and healing back into their own life, to the lives of those they love, and to the world at large.

Transformational Breathwork honors and blends the timeless wisdom of ancient traditions with the new understanding of technology and brain functionality. It creates a bridge between the conscious mind and the subconscious. Honoring the best of both worlds while creating a path for body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit to find healing and deep shift in behaviors and patterns or just release the tensions of the day.

In the past, and still in some remote areas, the Shaman was sought out much as a physician, counselor or minister is today. In the Shamanic tradition of old, the healer (Shaman) attempted to restore healing and balance to others by performing sacred rites or ceremonies which usually included prayers, songs, and chants. They would also journey into other realms while being assisted by power animals, spirit guides and allies.

What to expect in a breathwork session?

The session begins by establishing safe and sacred space through various rituals and ceremonies such as smudging with sage, prayer, and group, or individual confidentiality agreements. Individuals lie down and focus on surrendering to their inner healer, calling upon that which is most sacred and holy to them, such as spirit guides, power animals, and higher powers. As the drumming begins, journeyers are invited to connect with rhythmic breathing and a musical journey varying in length anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes that is scientifically attuned to open your 8 energy centers also known as Chakras. As the individual uses the power of deep connected breathing to create a natural altered dreamlike state, the Ego defenses are released, and the journey unfolds in a variety of magical ways.

Each person’s Shamanic Breathwork journey is a highly individualized process and no two are ever the same. Some of the states of consciousness reported range from divine, otherworldly bliss states to the struggle to release control and trust issues. Old patterns of dysfunction may be brought to the surface. Addictions are sometimes transformed during this process, as feelings such as grief, fear, rage, and anxiety are released.

As a Shamanic Breathwork Facilitator, I have undergone this process many times during my training and will lovingly guide and support your journey. The process requires the skills and attention I have learned as a Shamanic Breathwork Facilitator; I employ a variety of tools to assist you. Some of the most used methods are Bodywork, soul retrieval, and sometimes extracting energies that have adhered to you and that weigh down your current reality and keep you stuck.

The most powerful healing tool I bring as an SBW Facilitator is an open, loving heart and mind, with a willingness to support and travel with you wherever you may need to go. This is the essence of what Shamanic Breathwork is all about. Describing the process really does not do it justice. One must experience this powerful shamanic journey and its transformation directly.

At the close of the session, you will be prompted to write in a journal or, if time allows, create a mandala with colored chalk. This allows you to further integrate the journey you have just embarked on.

These breathwork sessions can be done individually, as a couple, or in a group.
